Denise Benson

Denise Benson, MFT, is a seasoned somatic psychotherapist in private practice in Los Altos and San Francisco, California. She works with adults and adolescents in a range of areas from leadership development to healing trauma. She also supervises intern therapists for The California Institute of Integral Studies. Denise facilitates somatics-based groups and is certified by Strozzi Institute as a Master Somatic Coach.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Denise developed and taught an innovative curriculum on emotional intelligence as a junior high school teacher. Her essay entitled, "Coming Home to the Body: A Journey for Adolescents," is a part of an anthology edited by Richard Strozzi Heckler entitled Being Human at Work: Bringing Somatic Intelligence into Your Professional Life.

Denise will be working with the Institute for Women's Leadership providing somatic coaching for executives and assisting Rayona in the design of our programs for young women.
