Gerry L. Hansen
Gerry L. Hansen is a former executive with the Charles Schwab Corporation where she worked in various roles for seven years. Her last position there was Chief of Staff for Financial Products and Services. Prior to that, she held the titles of CEO, COO and CFO of Schwab's International Operations, Corporate Controller and Senior Vice President of Internal Audit.
Prior to her career at Schwab, Gerry spent seven years with a venture capital company that provided secured lending to start-up companies in the high-tech and biotech industries. Gerry managed Investment Analysis & Business Planning and the Workouts & Turnaround division for this venture firm, located in the Silicon Valley.
Gerry's career began in public accounting with Deloitte and Touche where she specialized in Small Business Planning and Audit. After five years there, she joined one of her clients as Controller. Over the next 10 years she held the positions of Controller, CFO and COO in a series of start up and high growth companies.
At IWL, Gerry co-facilitates leadership programs, coaches executives and manages programs.
Gerry's heart, passion and commitment has always included helping women and children. She has volunteered with several non-profits as well as mentoring, training and coaching women throughout her career. She has served on the boards of GirlSource, Life Print (formerly known as Alumni Resources) and Lasallian Education Fund.
While at Schwab, Gerry launched "Mentium 100," a mentoring program for high-caliber women in business throughout the Bay Area. She was also co-leader for a three-day program within Schwab called "Women, Leadership and the Future." Gerry was active in Professional Business Women of California (PBWC) and held the title of President in 1998-99. Recently, Gerry was honored as a past president this year on the 20th anniversary of PBWC.
Gerry is a single mom with two adopted daughters: Shosi (11) is from China and Brianna (5) is from Guatemala. Gerry has also spent time volunteering in China with Half the Sky Foundation, building Infant Nurture Centers and training nannies to care for the children in the orphanages. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Marin Horizon School, where she has been active on the Parent Board and very involved in event planning and fund raising.
Gerry received her B.S. in Business Administration in 1979 from California State University, Chico. She is a registered CPA and CFA, and held various security licenses and registrations with NASD and the SEC.
